Policies

Important Booking And Safety Information.

These policies clarify expectations for both families booking tutoring and tutors applying to work with Academic Tutoring Toronto, including booking flow, safety, conduct, payouts, and basic data handling.

Privacy Policy

We collect only the information reasonably needed to review your booking request, coordinate scheduling, process payment, and communicate with you about your sessions. This may include parent or guardian contact details, student name, grade, subject, availability, and requested session information.

Your submitted information is used internally for service delivery and operational follow-up. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Terms of Service

Submitting the booking form and completing payment means you are requesting tutoring services from Academic Tutoring Toronto. Payment confirms a paid booking request, but tutor assignment, exact timing, location, and final scheduling are confirmed only after we review the request and verify availability.

We reserve the right to contact you to clarify details, adjust scheduling, or confirm a more suitable tutor match before the session is finalized.

Tutor Terms

Submitting a tutor application does not guarantee approval, profile activation, or lead volume. Applications are reviewed manually, and we may request additional verification before any tutor profile is activated.

Approved tutors are expected to follow professional conduct standards, maintain reliable attendance, and communicate scheduling issues early. Tutors who remain inactive for 30 days after approval without claiming a job may be deactivated without notice.

If a tutor claims a job and then fails to log session completion within a reasonable window (typically 14 days unless otherwise documented), this may be treated as job abandonment and grounds for immediate removal.

For active tutors, performance enforcement follows a three-strike model: first no-show or late cancellation may receive a warning, second offense may result in a 2-week suspension, and third offense may result in permanent removal.

Parent payment is collected in full at booking. Tutor compensation is paid per completed session, and payouts are issued on Fridays for sessions completed during the previous week, subject to record verification and policy compliance.

Safety Guidelines

In-person sessions are arranged in public library settings or other mutually agreed public locations. A parent or guardian remains responsible for the student before and after the session, including drop-off and pickup.

For online sessions, families are responsible for ensuring the student is in a safe, appropriate learning environment. Reasonable supervision should be maintained when appropriate for the student’s age.

Refund And Rescheduling Policy

If your requested booking cannot be fulfilled as submitted, we will contact you promptly to confirm a revised time, account credit, or refund option. We recommend providing at least 24 hours’ notice for rescheduling requests whenever possible.

If a session is cancelled on the same calendar day as the tutoring appointment, a 50% late cancellation fee may still apply. This helps cover the reserved tutor time that could not be rebooked on short notice.

For completed sessions, any refund concern must be raised within 12 hours after the scheduled session ends. After that 12-hour window, the session is treated as final and is no longer eligible for a refund. Approved credits, refunds, or scheduling adjustments are handled case by case where appropriate.
